Working across all of the trusts 33 reserves, the Western Reserves Volunteer Task force works out of Low Barns and spends much of their time focused on the 11 western reserves across West Durham – ranging from upland woodland, open heathland to reedbeds. The team also supports the Heart of Durham project and helps to manage several Northumbrian Water sites including Derwent Reservoir. The Eastern Reserves Volunteer Task Force manages our nature reserves in East Durham and the Northern Reserves Volunteer Task Force manages our reserves in the north. We often work together on big tasks and come together for training days. Volunteering is on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and every other saturday.
